Aesthetic medicine is an emerging branch of medicine that relies on procedures and techniques to improve and enhance the appearance, texture and contours of the skin, face and body. It encompasses all the aesthetic procedures and services carried out at a medical practice with minimal to no downtime. See below for the different types of aesthetic procedures and services:
A 45 minute consultation that takes an indepth look at your specific skin concerns....
During this consultation we will take a comprehensive history regarding your past and present skin care regimen, specific skin concerns, medical conditions and lifestyle factors that may be affecting the health of your skin.
We then cleanse and prep the skin and perform a thorough visual and tactile analysis of your skin followed by the taking of pictures so that progress may be monitored.
The relevant findings will then be presented to you and an appropriate treatment will be performed ONLY IF the patient's skin barrier function is intact.
A long term treatment plan using a combination of home care products and in clinic procedures will then be formulated for the patient based on the severity of the skin condition, the patient’s budget and time constraints.
In addition to the treatments we offer, we strongly recommend that you use a good medical grade home skin care protocol in order to optimize results....
We stock the following medical grade skin care brands:
Essel
Mesoestetic

A chemical peel is a technique used to improve and smoothen the texture of the skin. Chemical peels are intended to remove the outermost layers of the skin. To accomplish this task, the chosen peel solution induces a controlled injury to the skin in order to regenerate new cell production....
Chemical peels can effectively improve a wide variety of skin conditions including:
●Fine lines and wrinkles
●Uneven pigmentation
●Shallow acne scars
●Sun-damaged skin
●Age spots
●Freckles
The ingredients used and depth of a peel are dependent on the patient's skin type, photo type, over all skin health and specific skin concerns.
The following are the most commonly used chemical peels:
●Glycolic acid- used for all skin types, it reduces the appearance of fine lines and increases cell turnover leading to brighter and fresher looking skin.
●Salicylic acid- penetrates deeper into the skin. For acne prone & oily skin.
●Lactic acid- a high tolerance peel with a moisturizing effect. Good for hyperpigmentation.
●TCA- stronger than glycolic acid. Used to treat signs of aging, pigmentation and acne scars.
What to expect during a chemical peel?
First, we prep the skin by double cleansing and toning to help rid the skin of all dirt and oils.
We then apply the chemical agent which stays on the skin for a few minutes depending on the ingredient used. At this point you might experience a slightly tingly feeling which usually subsides within minutes. The peel is then neutralized and wiped off. We will then apply a mask which will help reduce the redness, peeling & activity caused by the peel followed by a post procedure moisturizer and sun block.
What to expect post peel?
Your skin will immediately feel tighter and might look a little red.
What to avoid post peel?
Avoid anything that will raise your core body temperature for 3-5 days.
Avoid sun exposure, very hot showers and strenuous exercise that’ll lead to excessive sweating.
What type of peeling to expect?
This varies from person to person.
The success of a peel should not be judged by the amount of peeling it produces but rather the results you are left with. Regardless of how much you peel, the skin is still sloughing off at an accelerated rate giving you an improvement in tone, texture, lines, pigmentation & breakouts.
Collagen induction therapy, also known as microneedling, dermarolling, or skin needling, is a cosmetic procedure that involves repeatedly puncturing the skin with tiny, sterile needles. Microneedling is minimally invasive, requiring no downtime and is considered safe for most people who are in overall good health....
Using the latest technology from Dermapen, the Dermapen 4 microneedling device, we are able to safely and effectively treat the following conditions:
●Fine lines & wrinkles
●Acne
●Hyperpigmentation
●Scarring
●Stretch marks
●Enlarged pores
Platelet-rich plasma (PRP) can be combined with microneedling. PRP is derived from the patient's own blood and contain growth factors that increase collagen production....
The PRP facial is a treatment that combines PRP with microneedling.
It is aimed at rejuvenating the skin by inducing collagen production which helps to improve skin elasticity, texture and tone, as well as reduce the appearance of fine lines & wrinkles, acne scars and large pores.
The procedure:
●The process begins by drawing 10-15mls of blood from the patient.
●This blood is then placed into a centrifuge which spins the blood down to isolate the platelets forming the PRP.
●In the interim, the patient’s face is cleansed and prepped with a topical anaesthetic.
●Next we begin with microneedling. The process of needling before applying the serum activates the build-up of collagen beneath the skin being treated. The stimulation of collagen quickly improves fine lines, skin texture and scars, priming the treatment area for the next step.
●Now the ‘bloody’ bit:
The areas being treated will be coated with the developed PRP concentration, through re-needling back into the skin.
●The growth factors get to work quickly, stimulating multi-potent stem cells which already exist in the skin. The skin responds to this accelerated action by plumping up and thickening, getting to work on those wrinkles, lines or scars.
Botox contains purified bacteria that freeze muscles. In doing so, it can help minimize the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles caused by facial expressions, giving you a more youthful appearance....
Areas most frequently injected:
●Between the brows.
●Across the forehead.
●Corner of the eyes (crow’s feet).
Dermal fillers contain hyaluronic acid that add fullness to areas that have thinned out due to aging. This thinning is common in the cheeks, lips, and around the mouth....
Areas most frequently injected:
●Nasolabial folds
●Perioral area
●Wrinkles of the cheeks and marionette lines
●Lips
●Jawline
●Under the eyes
